The sixteenth-century Villa Boncompagni alla Cicogna arises in the heart of the countryside surrounding Bologna, along the ancient roman Via Emilia, as one of the latest works from the famous architect Jacopo Barozzi known as Il Vignola. The historic villa became the main headquarter of Unipol Group Academy. The interior design project preserves the huge spaces, the heights, the frescos and all the decorations, safeguarding their majesty thanks to a chromatic and material palette in line with the villa’s style. Charm and suggestions of the Renaissance are coexisting with elegant and contemporary furnishings. Maintaining the original character of the project and its architecture, the interiors have been converted into versatile spaces, suitable to host the different educational activities offered by Unipol. The villa has been divided in some thematic areas with specific functions: classrooms – of different dimensions and typologies – a plenary chamber – situated at the centre of the ground floor – lounge and break areas, an archive and a meeting room.
