Villa di Bibbiani | Capraia e Limite

Villa Bibbiani is located on the extreme southern edge of Montalbano, a hill near the road that connects Limite to Capraia, surrounded by vineyards. The delightful park that surrounds it was wanted and personally cared for by the Marquis Cosimo Ridolfi who enriched it according to the scenic repertoire of the romantic gardens. His intention was to create a garden in which to experiment the possibility of adapting tree and shrub species coming from different climates to ours. The complex is made up of buildings of different epochs and is the result of transformations that took place over a millennium. The villa, situated on bases dating back to the Longobard and medieval periods and of which there are traces in the ancient cellars, was enlarged in successive periods until reaching, in the XVIII century, the current appearance that repeats the classic characteristics of the Medici villas.
